Facts and Lore: The name septarian comes from the Latin word for partitions or cracks. Septarian are pieces consisting of yellow calcite, brown aragonite, and chalcedony. The formula for Aragonite is CaCO3. It was named in 1797 for the local village. This is the same chemicals as calcite, but in a different crystal structure. Aragonite can form organically and non-organically. In the organic formation, it is common in corals and mollusk. The formula for chalcedony is SiO2. Chalcedony is a type of quartz.

Sizing details
All my pocket rockets are sorted by their measurements. The longest side is the measurement that they are sorted by. They could be very thin in both thickness and width, but make the measurement in length only. All pictures are from current lot so it will hopefully give you an idea of the dimensional comparisons for your piece.
I try to add approximate measurements to all items. If there is something I have forgotten or is unclear, please contact me for clarification!
All rocks are a bit smaller than you think they are going to be! Even I order stones online and look at them as I get them from the box and have the same thought. I always get out a ruler when I am reading the measurements on a stone to help me know what to expect.
Wholesale availability
I do wholesale buying when I attend the showcases. With Covid, many things have been cancelled and other sellers cannot get into the country. Please contact me with any questions. I do not sell anything listed on Etsy at wholesale prices, but I am willing to shop for you when I can.
