Iowaite... Yes! I had never heard of it until I encountered this awesome Russian dealer! It is an awesome stone. These specimens are from the Kaznakhtinskii massif, Ust'-Koska district, Altaisky Kray, Russia. An absolutely gorgeous deep purple, Iowaite is very light for its size. A slippery waxy feel when you rub your fingers along its surfaces.

Facts and Lore: The chemical formula for Iowaite is Mg6Fe3+2(OH)16Cl2 · 4H2O. It is normally a more greenish color, but this is the variety Chromian Iowaite. Chromian Iowaite is a purple color. Named for the original find in Iowa, USA. This is a very soft mineral with a hardness of only 1.5. Not so good for a pocket stone!

Sizing details
All my pocket rockets are sorted by their measurements. The longest side is the measurement that they are sorted by. They could be very thin in both thickness and width, but make the measurement in length only. All pictures are from current lot so it will hopefully give you an idea of the dimensional comparisons for your piece.
I try to add approximate measurements to all items. If there is something I have forgotten or is unclear, please contact me for clarification!
All rocks are a bit smaller than you think they are going to be! Even I order stones online and look at them as I get them from the box and have the same thought. I always get out a ruler when I am reading the measurements on a stone to help me know what to expect.
Wholesale availability
I do wholesale buying when I attend the showcases. With Covid, many things have been cancelled and other sellers cannot get into the country. Please contact me with any questions. I do not sell anything listed on Etsy at wholesale prices, but I am willing to shop for you when I can.
